Good Afternoon Players & Parents,
Welcome to West Cobb Girls Softball 10U. I am your new head coach for this Spring 2020 season. My name is John Winczewski (WIN-CHESS-SKI) and this will be my 1st season as head coach, and my 8th season as a player's dad/team helper. I am extremely excited to be your coach, and look forward to helping our girls progress and develop during the next couple of months. I already have several assistant coaches who will share their expertise and hard work with our team.
Marty Rodriguez is the father of Haleigh. This will be his 2nd season with us at WCGS, but he has assisted and been a player's dad for several years. His wife, Megan, has agreed to be our Team Mom. Expect to see some messages from her in the upcoming days with information and updates.
Patrik Ellington, father of Natalie, will also be an assistant coach this year. Patrik has a passion for coaching softball and was my daughters head coach last year. He is always the first one at the field and the last one leaving. He brings years of experience in all aspects of softball, and we are lucky to have him this season.
My wife Becky will also be helping this season when she is not traveling for work. She played softball through college, and will assist us especially with pitching and catching.
We are set to have our first practice this Saturday February 8th from 11:30am-1:00pm on Lost Mt. Field #9. Hopefully the weather will hold out for us, and the fields dry out after today. I will let you know the field statuses as soon as I find out.
I will be calling everyone tonight to introduce myself and get any pertanent information I may need from you. Once I get good contact numbers from everyone, I will start a group text chat. I will also be sending out a survey for uniform sock designs, team name, and other things. I want the girls to make this team their own, so please have them complete the survey with you. Our team colors are Red shirts with black lettering, and most likely with black pants.
Please contact me or any of the other coaches with any questions/comments or concerns.
Lets have a great season!
