Spring 2020 Season Skills Assessments

Skills assessments will be held at D-Bat West Cobb on Saturday, January 25. Schedule as follows:

Please Note:

For those wishing their daughters to PLAY UP: Parents must pick a time slot in the age group their player wants to play in (not their assigned age group). In order to play up, players need to attend the evaluation for that age group and meet a minimum score from the skills evaluations.

All girls must wear tennis shoes to the evaluations and bring their softball glove with them (and any other equipment they have - bat, helmet, etc).

There are NO evaluations for those playing in Sugar and Spice (4-5 yr olds), unless they are registered to Play Up to Senior Sugar & Spice (6 yr olds).

Location: Evaluations will be held at D-Bat West Cobb. Google Map

Spring Season Weather Notice

It might rain! Is my player and her team practicing or playing?

Every season at WCGS, we have to deal with inclement weather. Rain and even snow can force either Cobb County or WCGS to close the fields at Lost Mountain Park. Georgia weather can be very unpredictable, no matter what The Weather Channel says!

Rule of thumb: If you do not get a message from your coach or from WCGS, your player's practice or game is ON! In other words, if you don't hear anything, plan on heading to the park.

Softball is an outdoor sport. However we try to avoid it, on occasion you may get a message from your coach or the league notifying you that the fields have been closed while you're headed to the park - At the last minute. While the league and Cobb County try to give as much advance notice as possible, sometimes that notice is last minute. Be prepared!

In most cases, practices or games that get rained out or cancelled due to field conditions will be rescheduled. It is a good idea to enable text messaging in your account, and to subscribe to your team's schedule calendar on your mobile phone.
